Uber Eats > Bulldawg Delivery... Who's With Me?

As busy (lazy) college students, we take our food very seriously - we want it when we want it and how we want it . With classes and social events and whatever else takes up our seemingly short days, we all need a quick and delicious meal brought to our doorstep every once in a while. For freshman, a break from Bolton Dining Hall is an absolute must - one too many grilled chicken sandwiches does no good for anyone. Sophomores, your sorority/fraternity meal plan may be enticing, but nothing a nice sushi delivery can top. And for the juniors and seniors out there, just because we have our own kitchen now does not mean we are going to chef it up every night - the time and effort it takes may not be worth it. Lucky for us, we have an abundance of food delivery services at our disposal. Two of the most prominent names - Uber Eats and Bulldawg Delivery- have begun to fight for the hearts and stomachs of UGA's student body. With differing benefits, restaurants, and delivering styles, I will highlight for you the reasons why I believe Uber Eats has risen to the top of the food delivery arena and defeated Bulldawg Delivery.

1. Accuracy of Delivery Time

For Uber Eats, you are able to track your driver and identify their exact location. The app will give you an arrival time that is extremely accurate and automatically updated if any delays were to occur. For Bulldawg Delivery, I have never once had my food delivered at the estimated delivery time they have given me. Although they usually delivery quicker than the 60-90 minute window they estimate, I still have no way of tracking my order or knowing how far away the driver is. It is not very accurate and hard to estimate.

2. Tailored Recommendations

Uber Eats offers a feature that allows users to find what they want at ease. They use machine learning to generate recommendations like what you have ordered in the past, 30-minute delivery options, and popular options near you based on your past orders or details like delivery location or time of day. For Bulldawg Delivery, you can only see your past orders within your account tab. You are given the option to re-order, but must go back and find the exact date and time you had ordered it to do so.

3. Advanced Filtering

Exploring various food options is incredibly easy on the Uber Eats app. You are able to look up restaurants according to specific criteria like price, dietary constraints, and speed. Want to see all the peanut-free Chinese dishes available within 30 minutes? Piece of cake. For Bulldawg Delivery, there is no way to filter through based on time or dietary preference, it is up to you to choose the right meal and hope it comes in time.

4. Customized Drop-Off Location

A lot of times, we order food because we are not at home and food is out of our reach. Uber Eats has seen that many of these locations are outside of the home and have included a feature that allows us to customize our drop-off location. Whether that be "in the lobby" or "next to the street curb", users are able to give specific instructions and requests for how and where there food is to be delivered. Although Bulldawg Delivery offers this feature too, users are unable to change there requests after the order is placed. For Uber Eats, you can change the location up till the time it is delivered.

While both Uber Eats and Bulldawg Delivery offer a wide range of delicious meals that require very minimal effort on our parts, Uber Eats has customized the food delivery experience in a way no other service has before. They make it easier and quicker to place your order, and provide more accurate assurance that your meal will be delivered when you want it and how you want it. What else could a hungry college student ask for?
